Notifications, watching and tracking

Make sure you get notifications the way you want them.
Our community lets you set up your own preferences for how you’re notified about posts, replies, and mentions.

How to configure:
Go to your Notifications and Account (click your profile picture) → Profile (the icon at the bottom) → Preferences.
Under the Preferences tab, you’ll find settings for E-mails, Notifications and Tracking .

:bell: Emails and Notifications

  • Email notifications → You can choose to receive activity summaries, digests, or immediate messages based on your preferences.
Example: You want a daily summary of all replies in your watched topics rather than individual emails for every post.

  • Live/browser notifications → You’ll get real-time popups in your browser when someone replies or mentions you while you’re online.
Example: You’re actively participating in a discussion and want to see replies instantly without checking your email.

:bell: Watching vs. Tracking

  • Watching → You’ll be notified of every new reply in the topic, as well as replies or mentions directed at you.
Example: You’re following a bug report that matters to you — you don’t want to miss any update.
  • Tracking → You’ll see a counter for new replies, but you’ll only get notifications if someone replies to you or mentions you.
Example: You’re interested in a long discussion, but only need alerts if you’re directly involved.

  • Email notifications - activity summaries or immediate emails based on your preferences.
  • Live notifications - push notifications in your browser when you’re online.
  • Watching - every update.
  • Tracking - updates about you + a counter for the rest.
